Hi, I'm Simran! Welcome to my portfolio.
I'm a researcher, educator, writer, editor, and up-cycling artist based in Pune, India.
What gets me out of bed each morning is the prospect of adding value to my workplace(s) and collaborators in work bringing energy, big-picture-thinking, organization skills, attention to detail, and a focus on quality.
Learning, education, language, gender, human rights, the environment, and cinema are a few things that I am passionate about.
I've completed a Masters in English Literature from Jadavpur University and a Masters in Education from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Mumbai. I am currently pursuing my PhD in the sociology of education from TISS, Mumbai.
I am a Fulbright alumnus and have had the pleasure of teaching Hindi at Stanford University on a Fulbright Fellowship (2013-14).
I have been working in the realm of education (adult and K-12) for the last 15 years and have gathered various experiences ranging from teaching/training, research, teacher-training, content development, editing, and people management,

The Green Art Project is an initiative I began in 2020. It's an up-cycling and nature-based personal- and home-care based products.
It's my attempt at contributing towards the single-most urgent and important cause today: the environment.
