My teaching philosophy entails deep respect for each student, being appreciative of differences, and creating a safe space for learning, sharing, and being their authentic selves. I strive to use age-appropriate, student-centric methods that actively engage students in the learning process in combination with direct instruction, adequate scaffolding, and opportunity for challenge.
I would describe my teaching practice as playful, co-creative, and aimed at empowering. While teaching is often described as performance, my effort is to ensure that the act goes beyond the superficial level and engages more deeply with the persons I am working with. I believe in a constructivist approach and try to bring in as much of students' experiences into the classroom.
Students have proactively shared feedback on how they find my classes enjoyable and to have added value.
I am currently serving as Visiting Faculty at Fergusson College, Pune teaching courses such as Introduction to Media, Writing Skills, and Communication Skills to undergraduate students at the Media and Communication department.
